The LF 5L features a tension system that eliminates flask bounce. The chest closure system connects to the flask pockets, so when the vest is tightened the tension and compression across the flasks are increased.
Our flex carry system is built around two vertical rear pockets that adapt to your objective. An integrated, no-bounce pole quiver allows you to carry poles on either side of the body with no external attachments. The system also accommodates two additional flasks, multiple layers, ice socks, or an ice axe. Internal snaps close off a portion of each compartment to keep smaller gear accessible, and release to allow full carry of poles or longer items.
The LF 5L accommodates up to 3L of hydration at full capacity: 5x 600mL flasks distributed across the front flask pockets, rear pocket system, and the lower passthrough pocket.
The passthrough pocket offers a large compartment for layers, nutrition, and essentials. An internal zipped compartment stashes items you don't need quick access to, like a headlamp or first aid kit. The inside of the pocket is dotted with silicone to keep gear from sliding around while running.
The right-side Flex Carry pocket doubles as an ice tool carry, with options to position the pick up or down depending on fit and comfort. A small zipped exit at the bottom of the vest with an integrated ice tool toggle keeps your axe secure while carrying, and the tool can be accessed without removing the vest.
The vest base is built from 100% Dyneema mesh for maximum ventilation and durability at extremely low weight. Dyneema is the strongest fiber available, letting us build the lightest and most breathable vest base on the market without compromising durability. Size small weighs 154g.
The body fabric is made of 20d x 20d 67 gsm DotAir 72% recycled nylon, 28% Spandex, typically seen in apparel construction, not running vests. This allowed us to achieve a stretch and breathability not common in other vests on the market.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Raide builds light, aesthetic and balanced equipment for steep terrain. We believe that the best gear isn’t dependent on any one variable, like being the lightest, but a combination of style, weight, durability, and functionality to solve problems for outdoor athletes.
