Suspension System
A no bounce experience
A no bounce experience

The LF 2L features an internal strap system that puts tension across the material in the back and makes it so the contents of the back pocket do not bounce.

Materials
Elastic with UHMWPE Ripstop
Elastic with UHMWPE Ripstop

The LF 2L uses a 70d stretch woven with a 3mm x 3mm UHMWPE ripstop making it extremely cut resistant. This is one of the most durable belts on the market.

Belt structure
Support + insulation
Support + insulation

The LF 2L features 3mm of foam against the back and 4 flexible plastic stays. This structure keeps the belt close to your body instead of rounding away from you back like other belts. The foam has holes punched into it for breathability. The foam also insulates your bottle from you body heat, keeping your liquids cooler for longer.

Internal pockets
Organize your gear where you want it
Organize your gear where you want it

The LF 2L has 5 interior pockets and 7 pockets total for organization. 4 pockets in the front for gels, trash, headphones, etc and one zippered pocket inside the back pocket. We believe the main pockets (front + back) should be large for the ultimate flexibility.

Organization
2 main pockets for flexible storage
2 main pockets for flexible storage

We believe instead of many small pockets 2 main large pockets gives the ultimate flexibility. The outer pockets are split into the front and back. The front has 2 access points, and the back has one access point and spans the entire length between the dark black seams.

650mL Bottle
Maximizes water for belt size
Maximizes water for belt size

We felt like 500mL flasks were often too small for our medium to long runs, but didn't want to bump up to 2 flasks so we teamed up with Hydrapak to make a 650mL flask that hits the volume sweet spot. The bottle has a locking cap so it does not leak when pressure is applied to the nozzle. The bottle is compatible with the Katadyn BeFree and Hydrapak filter tops.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Raide builds light, aesthetic and balanced equipment for steep terrain. We believe that the best gear isn’t dependent on any one variable, like being the lightest, but a combination of style, weight, durability, and functionality to solve problems for outdoor athletes.

Great gift for an avid runner!

Purchased as a gift for my husband and he loves it. He said he couldn't tell that he was wearing it all on his run, which is the best thing you could hope for in a running belt. Very pleased!

Exceeded Expectations

I purchased the Raide LF 2L after Seth Ruhling won the Black Canyons 100k in January and had heard multiple times that there was no bounce in the belt when running long distances. After having the belt for two months, I can say that it's exceeded my expectations. There is no bounce and it is very easy to both adjust and access contents in the belt when running. Highly recommend this product.

A fabulous belt with niche appeal

When this belt first came out, I immediately asked myself "why are they charging 150 USD for a souped up Naked band??" I'm not writing this to be disparaging or anything - it was an earnest reaction and one likely shared by many running belt enthusiasts out there when they first encountered the Raide 2L FL. This belt is, however, far from a "souped up Naked band" - it's an attempt (and a damn good one) at merging the "fanny pack" style belts of yore with the more modern, flexible band-type belts like the Naked band, into something new. The result is a high-capacity running belt that is exceedingly comfortable, light, and bounce-free under a high load.

The materials used in this belt are extremely high-quality and as is the build quality. While perhaps not as breathable as the mesh used in the Naked band, the material is nevertheless very breathable by running gear standards and far more durable. This means that it is resistant to tears from sharp-ish objects like microspikes.

Perhaps the biggest advantage of the belt is that it carries a relatively heavy load exceptionally well. One can carry a full 650 ml flask (comes with the belt - how cool!) and poles in the back of the belt without any bounce, something which even a perfectly fitting Naked band cannot do from my experience. The front of the belt can also be loaded up with all the essentials while retaining stability where it counts, e.g., steep descents.

Another thing that I really like about the belt is that it has multiple compartments. There is a large pocket in the front where most stuff will be carried (e.g., cellphone, nutrition, med kit, earbuds) and two smaller pockets that open towards the user which are handy for carrying nutrition or trash. The back has one large pocket that perfectly fits a 650 ml soft flask, with room to spare. Finally, there is a small zipped pocket in the back that securely carries keys or other stuff that you don't want to lose.

Finally, I really dig how this belt looks. It's got a really minimalist design - all black with white/silver accents on dialed-down logos. This is a small but nice improvement over the gaudy yellow accents on the Naked band.

There are a few caveats regarding this belt that I want to mention. These aren't necessarily cons, just things to consider. First, the belt is pricy, even when one accounts for the 650 ml flask that is included with the belt. A Naked band and a 500 ml Hydrapak skyflask will set you back 85 USD. I think the additional 65 USD you'd spend on this belt IS worth it, however, but only for certain athletes. The high carrying capacity of the Raide belt really shines on long, mountain runs (2 hr plus), where you need to carry a lot of water, nutrition, and perhaps poles. If this is the kind of stuff you are into, then the Raide belt would totally outperform the Naked band. If you are a beginner and mostly go for shorter runs, I don't see the advantage of going with this belt over the Naked band. Finally, the sizing of this belt is a bit weird, and I would strongly suggest trying it on in store before buying. I was a size M based of the size chart, but the M ended up being too large (e.g., I experienced a ton of bouncing while going downhill). A size S ended up being perfect, and I'm really happy with my belt now, but I wish I had tried it on before buying it. I suspect the sizing issues may be in part due to the need to stretch the belt out a bit before it fits perfectly. The S was very snug when I first got it, but after putting the belt on and off a few times, the materials stretched out a bit and it now fits perfectly.

Happy trails!

Summer Is Coming... and this thing GOES

This belt is awesome. Simply put. Materials, functionality, fit - the people at Raide really thought this one through. It's still very much winter at the higher elevations in CO, so I've only done some shorter runs at this point. With that said, I'm fired up to test this thing on some big mountain adventures this summer.
