Raide packs prioritize quick access to your avalanche tools, and really quick access to your probe while also improving the space efficiency and bringing the tools closer to your center of mass.
The probe can be accessed without taking your pack off for quicker rescues and more efficient snow study.
The shovel can be accessed by dropping one shoulder strap. The pocket is made to accommodate shovels up to 12.5" in width and most large shovel handles.
By putting the probe and shovel handle on the side panels of the pack we maximize space efficiency and bring the weight closer to your center of mass.
The EX 55L uses fabrics made of UHMWPE (the highest strength to weight ratio yarn on the planet) in different constructions.
- The main fabric is Challenge Ultra 200TX which is 2x more tear-resistant and 8x more abrasion-resistant than competing ultralight fabrics.
- The bottom is constructed with Challenge Ultra 800TX, their most durable fabric construction, to stand up to the demands of expeditions and the added load the pack can carry.
- The rolltop is a 210d nylon ripstop with UHMWPE cross-ply. 100% Recycled
The only way to get access to all of your gear regardless of how you are carrying your skis. We think back panel access is essential to any expedition ski pack built for moving efficiently in the mountains. The frame & backpanel construction work together to create a seamless zipper interface, decreasing the time and effort it takes for you to reach your gear.
The back panel is one of our pack’s biggest innovations. We developed a molded composite insert with anti-bulge ribs that lock its shape, even when the pack is maxed out. It’s stiff horizontally to keep pressure off your spine and maintain airflow as designed, yet flexes vertically for easy access and natural movement.
The EX 55L has a large front stash pocket with internal organization and drainage to separate your wet gear like skins from your dry gear, and organizing quick access items like a repair kit and headlamp.
A waterproof rolltop allows you to extend your pack capacity to 75L, or compress the pack down to just 2" wide. This allows you to get your gear to basecamp, and still have a pack that skis extremely well on your day tours from camp.
The ice tool carry keeps the picks of your tools fully enclosed and secure so they don't get snagged or fall out. The ice tool carry is designed so that you can pull an axe out without taking your pack off.
Raide packs are designed to carry skis in four different ways: diagonal ski, skimo, a-frame, and vertical snowboard.
An aluminum frame enables you carry heavier loads comfortably and creates a secure anchor point for any of the ski & snowboard carries.
The aluminum frame runs the perimeter of the pack and is sewn into the back panel zipper, so when the back panel is closed it matches the shape of the frame. The frame can be removed.
Equipped with eight lashing points for attaching accessories such as a helmet, sled, foam sleeping pad, etc.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
We research and develop for steep terrain. We believe that the best gear isn’t dependant on any one variable, like being the lightest, but a combination of style, weight, durability, and functionality to address a certain need.
