The HiO Active Insulator is an evolution on synthetic insulators for backcountry skiing and riding. Active Synthetic Insulators are a staple for ski tourers that need to be breathable and warm during high aerobic output. We wanted to make an evolution in the category by improving breathability, warmth-to-weight, and durability, which we did through a combination of a micro-perforated liner, insulation infused with NASA Aerogel, the world's lightest insulator material, and a light and breathable woven face fabric with a Spectra (UHMWPE) ripstop. Built on years of apparel knowledge, we threw everything we could at this style to create something you can rely on in an extremely wide variety of conditions.

Wearable Hydration
The chest pocket features webbing to secure a soft flask for hydrating while skinning. We custom developed a 360mL softflask with HydraPak® that has a 12" hose that can be cut to your fit. This solves both water freezing by keeping your hydration close to body, and enables you to stay hydrated throughout your tour with a low-profile carry solution.
Pass-through Port
We custom developed a 360mL softflask with HydraPak® that has a 12" hose that can be cut to your fit, allowing you to route the hose through a passthrough port near the collar and access your hydration while moving without pulling the flask out.
Elasticized Cuffs
Seal in the warmth and keep your layers in place with elasticized cuffs and thumb loops on each arm, so the heat you're generating stays where it belongs.
Durable Face Fabric
Capable of whatever you throw at it. We're always going to push weight down as much as possible, but how do we do that without compromising durability. We add in durable yarns like the Spectra (UHMWPE) ripstop in the face fabric of that HiO Active Insulator.
Airy String Zipper
The lightest zipper you'll never notice. The UL Down Full Zip uses YKK's new, tapeless Airy String zipper, the lightest and most packable zipper available. Instead of sewing elements onto traditional zipper tape, the teeth are stitched directly onto the fabric, cutting weight and bulk while letting the zipper flex seamlessly with the garment for faster, smoother use putting the jacket on and off.
Perforated Pit Vents
Dump heat fast. Perforated vents under the arms let you release excess heat quickly during high-output climbs without having to stop and shed a layer.
